TJC has now compiled data on compliance issues for the whole of 2012.  The resulting list of Top 10 compliance concerns is largely the same as that published last December for the first half of last year. However, BHC and Hosp did have a few new standards making the list as follows:
Re: BHC
• 12% (#9/10) CTS.02.01.09 The organization screens all individuals served for physical pain.
• 12% (#10/10) CTS.02.01.11 The organization screens all individuals served for their nutritional status.
Re: Hosp
• 34% (#10/10) EC.02.05.01 The hospital manages risks associated with its utility systems.
Tip: Since these are citations that TJC surveyors have been finding (and are likely to be looking for), use your upcoming mock tracers and environmental rounds to evaluate your level of compliance at least with the new standards listed above each time the list is updated.
