This article focuses on our complaint review processes that help us meet the requirement of RI.0107.01 for patients (and their families) to have their complaints appropriately heard and reviewed.  The 5 recommendations are:
1 – Be clear and objective about the complaint review process
2 – Ensure patients are fully informed about the process
3 – Develop a mechanism for tracking the processing/resolution of complaints
4 – Track/trace the complaint process to be sure it works properly
5 – Make it a policy to periodically re-evaluate the process
