- Dr. Barrett received a nursing diploma from Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salem State College in Salem, Massachusetts, a Masters Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and a PhD in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She holds a certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nursing.

- Questioned staff in every role. Clinical focus was on continuity of care. Hard questions in the PI session. EC focus was on disaster drills and ability to function in place for4 days (96 hrs) without outside help.
