A number of organizations are inquiring what programs are in use in hospitals - state & otherwise. We use CPI and our residential is moving from Mandt to QBS. What are you using?

Yes our hospital does utilize CPI for behavior management training. We recently explored some alternate options and felt like the CPI program still continued to provide the most comprehensive training. Renee Presley, Quality Improvement Nurse RN III Searcy Hospital (SH)_7Ad1Fr

Alaska Psychiatric Institute has been using Mandt for many years. I find the effectiveness of the training depends on how well staff implement what they have learned. Mandt spends most of the training on recognizing escalation and de-escalating a client and it works very well when staff apply the principles’. Failure usually happens when the principles are not applied. The answer may not be a new methodology that is probably similar, but knowing that what you are teaching is being used. ---------- Paul O

We use CPSI hospital-wide, (may be similar to CPI), and individual units provide education on their own behavior programs. Hope this helps!
