Is anyone aware of psychiatric hospitals in your State, either public or private that are DNV accredited (http://www.dnvaccreditation.com)?

None of the Alabama state facilities are DNV accredited. I am not aware of any of the private hospitals in Alabama switching to DNV accreditation. However you may want to contact Hillcrest Psychiatric Hospital in Birmingham and check with them.

DH - There is info on the web that says DNV now has 27 accredited hospitals in 22 states. However, the folks I spoke with in DNV tell me that at the present time that number does not include any State or Psychiatric Hospitals. Hope this helps.

One our West Michigan hospitals with a psychiatric unit, had a very positive DNV survey and highly recommends it. They have an annual survey but for their 3 year cycle, they will 'keep' the same surveyors.

Hi everyone..I thought I would weigh in on this one. DNV does have one free standing psychiatric hospital that has gone through accreditation. I am surveying for DNV and I have been in contact with the leadership whether or not state hospitals can go through the process. I know you would all love it. For those of you who dont know, I surveyed with TJC and I see the difference when I am surveying for DNV. I will keep you up to date. Im fairly certain we will be able to do the state hospitals soon. If any one wants info, feel freee to contact me at cathiea@aol.com.
